represents over 300 million of people in the whole world. Recognized by
the Indian Government it has designated a world yoga embassy
secretariat, directed by Georges Stobbaerts.

The International Yoga Federation offers a comprehensive education in the Science, Art and Philosophy of Yoga taught by a community of highly qualified Yoga Masters ("Yogacharyas") who embody traditional and innovative approaches to learning. It aims to promote the physical, mental, spiritual and social benefits of Yoga and Yogatherapy for everybody regardless of age, sex, ability or disability, ethnicity or religion. It also aims to provide Yoga events, Yoga congress, Yoga conventions, Yoga publictions, Yoga research, Yoga seminars, Yoga workshops, Yoga meetings, Yoga education and Yoga teacher's training in all the traditions and methods. The International Yoga Federation is the meeting point for all International, Continental, Regional and National yoga organizations all over the world. It is a forum for yoga schools of all traditions, teacher's organizations, and independent yoga professionals. It provides a vehicle for those who teach unity to come together in unity, while supporting the diversity that exists within the World Yoga Community. International Yoga Federation is a voluntary alliance of
diverse yoga organizations and individual yoga masters and yoga
teachers dedicated to uphold the integrity of Yoga, establish voluntary
"international standards for yoga teachers", and provide support for
yoga professionals in the World. It is
a
self-regulating, non-profit organization that provides support
services
to all yoga professionals, establishes and disseminates standards for
the education of yoga teachers, and maintains an "international
registry
of teachers" who meet those standards. International Yoga Federation
brings together the international community of yoga with
organizations that provide health care, medical and human services,
stress management, and spiritual support to the public. The IYF was founded in 1988, under the name of International Yoga Teachers and Instructor Federation (IYTIF) mainly with a view to training teachers. In September 2001 it became the International Yoga Federation with new contitution and status.
