Dear Yoga Friends,
I thank you all, the thrust deposited in me, by nominating me as your Yoga Ambassador for Europe and Africa.
It is a burden not easy to carry, and I am sure that there are among the world Yoga community other more qualified for the Job then me.
Nevertheless, I will give my best and expect the help from all of the dedicated yoga practitioners, remaining always open to all suggestions you might have.
I will disseminate Yoga through the International Yoga Federation, so actively directed by its President, H.H. Yogacharya Dr. F. Estevez Griego (Maitreyananda Swami), and its wonderful team.
It is not an easy task to make western world understand the oriental way of thinking. The Embassy will find itself in front of two conceptions of the world, two traditions of thinking.
On one side we have the reason, science, experimentation, scientifical evidence and on the other, the Yoga's side, wisdom, meditation, the living in experience of the states of conscience.
Such is the vision of the oriental thought observed so many times.
Today history makers of science and philosophy, propose new way of looking at the Body and Spirit, and find through it new richness in oriental tradition.
In Yoga, like in other oriental practices, the body assumes itself as the engine of evolution, not as an object to improve, but being itself the instrument of liberation. He his mediator from the limited SELF to the Cosmic or Divine infinite.
Yoga is rich in a Philosophical Corpus (very supple), that can in reality open new opportunities to the west.
The Embassy will organize encounters with philosophers, scientists, and researchers, Wise man from India, thinkers or mystical from other lines, always without any racial, religious or cultural discrimination.
More fair relationships between body and conscience, matter and spirit will be encouraged by the Yoga Embassy.
These are some of our guidelines and objectives, perhaps ambicious but for Yoga, treasure of Humankind, nothing will ever be to big.
