The Yoga Embassy of the International Yoga Federation is opening its office in Portugal (Sintra) and is seeking to be a place of gathering for the different organizations of Yoga.

The Embassy, for its opening, organizes two important events:

Manifesto for Peace and Non Violence

1) Creation of the Manifesto for Peace and Non Violence (2004), for all the yoga practitioners of the world (300.000.000 practitioners).

2) Invitation to all the Martial Arts practitioners of the World (Japan, China, India, etc) to sign it as well.

This manifesto will be officially delivered to Unesco head office in Paris, France.

Parliament of World's religions

The International Yoga Federation is invited to the Parliament of World's religions that will be held in Barcelona in July 7-13, 2004.

The Yoga Embassy invites the representatives of the official organisations of Yoga of the whole world not to miss this unique occasion.

A great number of responsible people had often stressed the need to share a dialog that will allow discovering the richness of the spirituality of Yoga (Treasure of Mankind).

Yoga, with 300.000.000 practitioners, is considered the fifth spiritual community of the world, after Islam, Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism.

The Parliament of World's religions is, for Yoga, the opportunity of:

1) An extraordinary gathering,

2) Ensure a high quality internationally recognized in Yoga divulgation putting aside all sectarism and xenophobia,

3) Contribute to spread the knowledge of Yoga. The values of Yoga are a true education that helps to promote the respect for difference, that reinforces peace with yourself and the others within Spirit of Tolerance and all other aspects of a culture of Peace.

4) Create a forum:

            a) About the diffusion of Yoga;

            b) Promote innovative projects, and, if needed, create a database of successful experiences and innovations.
